Please also note that this is not a private tour and you will join others on the boat trip and on the guided bus and land tour.     Arrive at the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island Silo District, V&A Waterfront 30 minutes before the time with a copy of your passport on your phone or the original. Please note this is a ticket only and excludes hotel transfers. Once you have boarded the shared boat with others you will set sail for 30 minutes on the open sea to Robben Island Museum. Upon your arrival at the Robben Island Jetty, you will disembark the boat and be guided on a shared bus with others by an ex-political prisoner at Robben Island Tour Guide for a shared tour of the island. The guide will provide live commentary about Robben Island and its history, indicating the various homes of ex-political prisoners and other landmarks. The tour will culminate with a view of the prison cell where former President Nelson Mandela was held as a prisoner and an opportunity to walk in his historical footsteps on The Long Walk to Freedom. Once the tour of Robben Island has concluded, you will return to the Jetty.

Being told that we could not reschedule or receive a refund. I guess they operator is comfortable with encouraging sick people to travel rather than lose their money.

The tour guide on the bus was exceptional (Craig). He gave very thoughtful and informative information, especially as South Africans we really enjoyed his take on the Island and the information which he gave. The Island was amazing to see, and the whole process was very efficient, and they allowed us time to stop for snacks etc. putting the guests first.

Had read Long Road to Freedon so great to step in his shoes. The big surprise was the story of Subukwe & his role that led to Sharpeville & his total isolation.
